Night Care

Night Care only with prior planning

Just because you may know someone else has made arrangements, it does NOT mean you can be late also!

5:30 – 6:30 Dinner

6:30 – 7 Bath if necessary with supervision and get pajamas on for our slumber party.

7 - 7:30 play quiet activity.  Board games or cards are fun.  Night care is more quiet time. They always have books and drawings available.  Building things like Legos or train sets are favorites.

7:30 Clean up the play area and snack, brush teeth

8:00 read, sleep, or listen to music. Young children will sleep on mats or cribs. If children spend the night, I will allow them on mats on the floor in my room so I will be close.  I can hear the children if they make noise.  I would not go to sleep before all children are fast asleep.  Each room has a window for emergency exit if needed.

Evacuation of sleeping children is the same meeting area but more work for the provider.   Would have to pick up the child and carry him to a safe area then call 911.

For late-night Departures, I have the parents call me 5 minutes before they are coming so that I am not wasting my time waiting for them to come.  This allows me enough time to change diapers and prepare children for pickup.  I also use this policy for early Arrivals before 7 am.  This helps if a parent is running late.  They do not disturb the child or myself until they are REALLY here.

I try to shower before my staff leaves in the evening if I have children late.  I also have an approved family, next door who will come over long enough to take care of safety needs.
