Outdoor Play
Physical Activity at Cindy’s Kids
Our Program Philosophy on Outdoor Play
At Cindy's Kids, we whole-heartedly believe in the power of outdoor play. We ensure that children enjoy fresh air every day, weather permitting—even if it’s just in a covered area. We offer a diverse range of stimulating activities that children love, including group games like "Popsicle," "Red Light Green Light," and "Duck Duck Goose," as well as exciting obstacle courses, scavenger hunts, and art projects. We skillfully adapt these activities to fit the seasons.
Outdoor play is crucial for developing gross motor skills—those large muscle movements such as running, jumping, and throwing. These skills are fundamental for a child's overall development and provide a strong foundation for fine motor skills in the future. We commit to providing at least one hour of planned physical activities each day, in addition to ample free play that includes biking, using chalk, blowing bubbles, and imaginative sand play.
We actively promote dynamic activities like dancing, gymnastics, yoga, and obstacle courses to enhance movement skills further. At Cindy’s Kids, we recognize outdoor time as essential for children's growth, not just as a break from routine. Our focus is on guaranteeing that children have fun while engaging in their activities, offering assistance whenever necessary, and staying actively involved in their play.
Every child, including infants and toddlers, experiences the outdoors daily when weather conditions allow. We take weather safety seriously and will keep children indoors during inclement weather, which includes:
- Heavy rain or the presence of lightning/thunder
- Temperatures exceeding 90°F, particularly during heat advisories
- Wind chills dropping to 20°F or lower
We are dedicated to providing enriching outdoor play experiences that support every child's development.
WE DO NOT HAVE A SWIMMING POOL ON THE PREMISES.
